Bender Quest — Privacy Policy

Bender Quest ("we", "us") is a GPS night-out companion app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account details: the email address and username you enter to access the app.
• Precise location: your device's GPS location while a session is active, including in the background, so we can record your route and show your live location to your squad.
• Activity & session data: route, distance, steps, drink count, hydration, and session times. Steps are measured on your device (motion sensors) and are used to display your stats.
• Squad content: squad membership, chat messages, and your display name shared with your squad.
• Usage & diagnostics: app usage and performance data via Google Firebase Analytics.

How we use your information

• To provide the core features: live route tracking, step counting, drink/hydration tracking, the map, squads, chat, leaderboard, and recap cards.
• To share your live location and display name with members of a squad you join.
• To understand app usage and improve the product (analytics).
• To contact you about the app and related updates or offers (using the email you provide).

Location, including background use

With your permission, Bender Quest accesses your location while the app is in use and in the background ("Always"). Background access lets your route keep recording and your live location stay visible to your squad when your screen is off or the app is backgrounded. You can change or revoke location access at any time in your device Settings.

How your information is shared

• With other users: if you join a squad, your live location, display name, and chat messages are visible to that squad. Reps who enable broadcast mode share their live location with app users on the map.
• With service providers: we use Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Analytics) to run the app and store data.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party cross-app advertising.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the app. You can request deletion of your data (see Contact).

Age

Bender Quest is intended for users of legal drinking age and is rated 17+. It is not directed to children under 17.

Your choices

• Revoke Location or Motion & Fitness access anytime in your device Settings.
• Turn off notifications in Settings.
• Request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.
